Summary

Summary
The VA Office of Inspector General (OIG) conducted a review to evaluate selected health care facility operations, focusing on patient care quality and the environment of care. During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 92 employees. This review focused on seven operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the advance directives activity. The facility’s reported accomplishment was the implementation of the patient-centered call center to increase the speed to response time, decrease the call abandonment rate, and improve patient satisfaction. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following six activities: (1) quality, safety, and value; (2) environment of care; (3) medication management; (4) coordination of care; (5) computed tomography radiation monitoring; and (6) suicide prevention program.
