Join us this Veterans Day, November 11, at 3:00 PM, for the 26th annual Military Women’s Memorial Veterans Day ceremony. The ceremony, one of the major observances in the nation’s capital, is free and open to the public and will include formal military honors, a keynote address, veterans’ remarks, and wreath layings.

We are honored to have retired Army Major General Suzanne Puanani Vare-Lum join us to deliver this year’s keynote address. MG Vare-Lum is a 34-year veteran of the United States Army, Army Reserve and Hawaii Army National Guard. She has recently been selected as the next President of the prestigious East-West Center, the first woman president since the Center’s establishment by Congress in 1960. As is the Military Women’s Memorial tradition, six servicewomen, one from each military service, will join MG Vare-Lum in paying tribute to the nation’s military veterans.

In celebration of America’s veterans, guests are invited for light refreshments following the program. We look forward to having you join us to honor America’s veterans.

Our program will be held inside the Memorial.

Situated at the ceremonial entrance to Arlington National Cemetery, the Military Women’s Memorial is the only major national memorial and education center dedicated to preserving and honoring the history of all servicewomen – past and present. More than 3 million women have served in the military since the American Revolution, yet the stories of these courageous patriots are largely untold. For more than 25 years, the mission of the Memorial has been to honor and tell the stories of service of all women who have served our nation. By ensuring these stories of honor, duty, and sacrifice live on in perpetuity, future generations of girls and women are able to see clear pathways and leadership examples through military service. The Memorial educates and inspires through innovative and interactive exhibitions, our world-class collections, and engaging programs and events for all generations.
