VA Veteran Experience Action Center (VEAC) to Put on Event

Honolulu, Hawaii -- The Department of Veterans Affairs, in collaboration with the Oahu Veterans Center, the Hawaii Office of Veterans Services and many Oahu community Veteran service organizations will host an in-person event for the Veterans, family members, caregivers and survivors of Oahu. This event is not a claims clinic, not a health fair, not a homeless stand down, not a PACT act event and not a community organization fair. It is all of these and more.

The Veterans Experience Action Center (VEAC) is an event with expert staff from the Veterans Benefits Administration, the Veterans Health Administration, the National Cemetery Administration, The VA VET Center, the Hawaii Office of Veterans Services, and community organizations that provide services including education, employment, community mental health, temporary financial assistance, pro bono legal assistance, housing, food banks and more. Customers will be able to get assistance in filing claims and appeals, enrolling in VA healthcare, enrolling in the VA pre-burial program, securing community support for issues which VA and the State cannot provide, and much more.

“The goal of every staff member at the VEAC is simple,” says Executive Director of the Veterans Experience Office Directorate responsible for planning the VEAC events Jim Wartski. “Take one customer and take every moment necessary to listen, evaluate, expedite, resolve, and refer.”

Please join us at the Oahu Veterans Center for this once in a lifetime holistic, action-oriented event on August 31, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and September 1, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time (HST).

“We are doing everything we can to ensure that Veterans have opportunities to talk to us,” said Dr. Adam Robinson, director VAPIHCS. “We want to get them the care that they have earned and deserve.”

VA Pacific Islands Health Care System (VAPIHCS) has made PACT Act Enrollment and Community Calls a priority over the last year, enrolling more than 8,000 Veterans. This event will be another step towards getting Veterans the services that they have earned and deserve. For more information regarding VA health care in the pacific call: 1-800-214-1306.
