Q1. How does VA ensure LGBTQ+ Veterans have patient-centered health care? 

A1. VA is dedicated to providing health care for all Veterans, including LGBTQ+ Veterans, in an affirming and welcoming environment. VA staff and providers will respect your identities. We offer routine health screenings, immunizations, and other services such as hormone treatment, tobacco cessation, mental health, suicide prevention, geriatric care, and more to ensure LGBTQ+ Veterans receive the care they need and deserve. VA staff can take ongoing education programs about LGBTQ+ health care.

Q2. What resources are available to LGBTQ+ Veterans?

A2. Every VA facility has at least one LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator (VCC) to ensure Veterans have access to appropriate care and treatment. LGBTQ+ VCCs assist you by finding providers, answering questions, and reporting problems if they arise.
