Dr. Shakaib Rehman serves as the Acting Chief of Staff for the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PVAHCS).

As a member of the executive leadership team, he is responsible for the strategic direction and executive leadership for clinical services and operations of the medical center. He has direct oversite for Primary Care, Geriatrics, Radiology, Medical Staff office, Education, Laboratory and Pathology, Medicine, and Connected Care.

He has served Veterans for 25 years in various capacities and has founded many programs at PVAHCS including establishing Academic Primary Care Clinic, New Provider Orientation, Biomedical Informatics Fellowship, and other residencies and fellowship programs in collaboration with University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix and Mayo Clinic Arizona School of Medicine. He also currently serves as the Professor of Internal Medicine, Professor of Humanism & Interim Chair & Professor of Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix.

Dr. Rehman was awarded the Master of the American College of Physicians, Fellow of Academy on Communication in Healthcare, Fellow of International Association on Communication in Healthcare, and American Medical Informatics Association. He is a certified Mentor for the Department of Veterans Affairs and has numerous teaching and leadership awards
