VA Pittsburgh is looking for Veteran Service Organizations who have a facility in Allegheny County where our staff can provide an Adult Day Health Care program for Veterans close to their homes.

VA Adult Day Health Care programs provide health maintenance and rehabilitative services to frail elderly and functionally impaired Veterans in a group setting during daytime hours. Veterans who participate in these programs enjoy social activities, peer support, companionship, and recreation. The program can also provide respite care for a family caregiver and can also help Veterans and their caregivers manage the Veteran's care at home.

VA Pittsburgh wants to bring high-quality VA adult day health care services closer to Veterans’ homes.

But to do this, we need your help.

We are looking for Veteran Service Organization partners who would like to serve our nation’s heroes by hosting our Mobile Adult Day Health Care directly in your facility.

Our staff will come to your facility to provide games, crafts, music, light exercise, education, activities, and food. We will also work to provide virtual appointments so that Veterans can connect to VA providers while at your facility.

If your Veteran Service Organization can provide the below amenities at least one day a week, then we want to talk with you:

  • Located within Allegheny County
  • A multi-purpose space that holds between 35 and 55 Veterans
  • Is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act
  • Sufficient number of tables and chairs
  • Sufficient bathrooms
  • Electricity
  • A refrigerator
  • Ample parking
  • A private room or area for virtual appointments

If you would like more information about our Mobile Adult Day Health Care program and how you can partner with us, please join our meeting on Dec. 13 at 10 am.  You can access this meeting online via Webex or by calling 1-872-701-0185 and entering conference ID 2761 836 6787.  If you can’t make it to the Dec. 13 meeting but may be able to help, please call Kari Zana at 412-822-1672.
