Jamie Crawford, RN, MSN, currently serves as the interim Associate Director of Patient Care Services at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center.
She previously served as the Associate Chief Nurse for Patient Services at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital, where she oversaw Peri-operative Services, Specialty Services, Outpatient Procedural Areas, and the Emergency Department. She also led the facility’s Referral Coordination Initiative and holds certifications in Critical Care and Chemotherapy nursing.
In addition to these responsibilities, Ms. Crawford supervised professional nursing practices across multiple areas, including the Community Living Center, Acute Psychiatric Unit, Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program, Nursing Informatics, the Safe Patient Handling program, and the Skin and Wound program.
She served at Truman VA since 2012 as a Master-prepared registered nurse. She began her VA career as the nurse manager for the Acute Psychiatric Unit and the 2C Lodger Program. In 2015, she became the nurse manager for the Cardiology Department, which includes the cath lab, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, and the cardiology clinic. During this time, she also served as interim nurse manager for the OR, PACU, and APU.
Her previous roles include co-chairing the Disruptive Behavior Committee and serving as a Master Trainer for Clinical Team Training, where she contributed to Truman VA's journey toward becoming a High Reliability Organization. She is also Black Belt trained and has served as a Mentor Fellow.
