VA Providence Kicks Off Spring with Garden Event
This Tuesday VA Providence hosted our "Kickstart Your Garden" event, welcoming the spring season with enthusiasm and community spirit.
The event saw Veterans and VA employees, all eager to learn more about gardening and sustainable practices.
"We were honored to have the expertise of the URI Master Gardeners and the Rhode Island Wild Plant Society at the event,” said Larry Calabro of the Green Environmental Management System Committee (GEMS), organizer of the event, “These esteemed groups provided invaluable educational materials, expert advice, and generously distributed free seeds to attendees, ensuring everyone had the tools to start their gardening projects,” he said.
"Kickstart Your Garden" was not only an opportunity to gather gardening tips but also a chance for community engagement and sharing amongst our Veterans and staff.
“We at VA Providence are thrilled with the event's success and look forward to hosting more initiatives that bring together our community while promoting well-being and environmental stewardship,” said Calabro.
