VA Providence Medication Take Back Event
Wondering what to do with unused or expired medications in your home?
Throwing them away or flushing them down the toilet can be harmful to the environment and public health. Keeping them in your cabinets can pose a risk of accidental ingestion, misuse, or abuse.
That’s why the VA Providence Health Care System will be hosting a Medication Take Back event on Saturday, October 28th from 10:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. VA Police Officers will be present at the front circle by the main hospital entrance for Veterans and the community to safely and securely dispose of their unwanted medications. No questions asked, no hassle, no cost.
This event is part of the National Take Back Initiative Collection for Narcotics, which aim to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths by collecting and disposing of potentially dangerous prescription drugs. Last year, VA collected more than 40 tons of medications across the country!
