VA Providence Research Week
VA Providence proudly celebrated Research Week, culminating in the inspiring VA Providence Research Day.
Under the theme "Building Community through Research," over 40 innovative projects were displayed, expertly led by our Associate Chief of Staff of Research, Dr. Gaurav Choudhary. This showcase highlighted our commitment to fostering a collaborative environment that enhances Veteran care.
The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Grant D. Huang, Deputy Chief Research and Development Officer from the Office of Research & Development, underscoring the national importance of our initiatives. The day was highlighted by Dr. David Borton’s keynote on spinal cord injury rehabilitation, demonstrating our commitment to bridging scientific advancements with real-world applications.
Special congratulations to Peng Zhang, MD; Crystal Parry; and Mriganka Singh MD, AGSF, our Poster Award Winners, whose research contributions embody the innovative spirit at VA Providence. Additionally, Sebhat Erqou, MD, PhD, and James L. Rudolph MD, were honored with the Beckwith Family Award for Outstanding Teaching, recognizing their exceptional educational contributions. We also celebrated Kate Barnabe’s 15 years of dedicated federal service, honoring her enduring commitment to our Veteran community.
These accolades and insights from Dr. Borton, supported by Dr. Huang, reinforce how our research and educational efforts not only advance medical science but also strengthen the community bonds, building a resilient network of care and support for our Veterans.
