VA Secretary McDonough Visits VA Providence
On Monday, November 20th, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough visited the VA Providence Healthcare System to meet with Veterans, facility leadership, and VA staff.
He also toured the hospital and learned about the various programs and services offered to Veterans in Rhode Island.
Secretary McDonough expressed his appreciation for the work of the VA Providence Healthcare System and praised its efforts to provide high-quality care and support to Veterans. He also highlighted some of the initiatives and achievements of the VA, such as the expansion of telehealth and the implementation of the PACT Act.
During his visit, Secretary McDonough interacted with several Veterans and listened to their stories and feedback. He thanked them for their service and sacrifice, both in uniform and out of uniform, and assured them of the VA’s commitment to their well-being.
Secretary McDonough also toured the hospital and observed the facilities and equipment available to Veterans. He visited the emergency department, hemodialysis, the intensive care unit, and nutrition department.
The visit of Secretary McDonough was an opportunity for the VA Providence Healthcare System to showcase its achievements and challenges.
