Kirsten I. Danforth, MS, FACHE, was appointed as the Acting Assistant Director at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner Salisbury VA Medical Center effective August 17, 2023.

Ms. Danforth started her career with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) as an Addictions Therapist at the Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, New York.  Most recently, she served as the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Staff at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner Salisbury VA Medical Center. During her time at the Stratton VA Medical Center, Ms. Danforth also served as the Program Manager for the Chemical Dependency Rehabilitation Program, the Health Care for Homeless Veterans Program, and Care in the Community.  She then transitioned to the role of Executive Assistant to the Director prior to her transfer to the Salisbury VA Medical Center in 2021.

Ms. Danforth is a native of Harwinton, Connecticut. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hartwick College, and her Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany. She is a 2021 graduate of the Health Care Leadership Development Program, and she earned her Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) credential in 2023.
