VA Salt Lake City to host PACT Act Week of Action Kickoff and Open House

Salt Lake City , UT — VA Salt Lake City Health Care System will host a PACT Act Week of Action Open House to inform Utah Veterans, their families, and caregivers about the PACT Act and encourage them to apply for the toxic exposure-related health care and benefits they have earned.

The PACT Act is the largest expansion of Veteran health care and benefits in decades. This Week of Action event is part of VA’s broader efforts to ensure that every eligible Veteran and survivor gets their PACT Act-related health care and benefits.

What: PACT Act Week of Action Open House, kicking off with a 30-minute program followed by a four-day open house. At the open house, VA staff will help Veterans apply for benefits, complete toxic exposure screenings, and enroll in VA health care.

Who: Rima Nelson, Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Operations; Dr. Angela Williams, Director, VA Salt Lake City Health Care System; Emmett O’Meara, Interim Director, Veterans Benefits Administration Regional Office; Terry Schow,  Vietnam Veteran and Veteran Advocate; and Cory Pearson,  Deputy Director, Utah Department of Veteran and Military Affairs.

When: Kickoff Event: 1:00 pm-1:30 pm Wednesday, December 14, 2022

              Open House: Wednesday, December 14, 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm
                                         Thursday & Friday, December 15-16, 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm
                                          Saturday, December 17, 8:00 am – 4:00pm
