Joshua Farber is the chief of engineering services at the VA Salt Lake City Healthcare System.
Farber is a registered professional engineer, certified healthcare facility manager, and past president of the Utah Society of Healthcare Engineers. He started his career with VA as a TCF Intern in 2003 and has since served in various roles, most notably chief engineer for the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System.
While his wife served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, he worked as a civilian project manager with Marine Corps Bases, Okinawa. He received the Spirit of George E. Wahlen award in 2020 and the Utah Society of Healthcare Engineers professional of the year in 2018. During his tenure as engineering chief for the VA Salt Lake City Healthcare System, he’s overseen the transformation of community based clinics, led the infrastructure efforts associated with the COVID-19 response and executed master planning efforts for the region.
Farber is a volunteer engineer for Engineering Missions International with whom he master-planned two hospitals in Cameroon and Gabon (Africa). In addition to his work with Veterans, he is an active volunteer at his church and his children's school, where he serves as soccer team and chess club coach.
