Medical Support Assistants are front line workers, helping providers deliver the best possible care to Veterans.

Medical Support Assistants are often the first person a Veteran or family member will come into contact within a VA medical center or community clinic. They help the Veteran get checked in for appointments, schedule appointments, and support Veteran care by and tracking, reviewing, and responding to electronic orders, and consults.

“It is a fast-paced job and it’s busy. It keeps the day the moving. You never know what you are going to get” said Molly Polzin, an advanced medical support assistant in Mental Health Services.

Polzin has worked at VA Salt Lake City for nearly a year. She saw the medical support assistant position as good way to use her health care administration degree. She said the best part of her job is knowing that what she does daily, ensures Veterans get the mental health help they need.

If you want to build a rewarding career helping Veterans and work for one of the nation’s best large employers, VA Salt Lake City has open positions for Advanced Medical Support Assistants.
