Public invited to groundbreaking for new Rock Springs VA Clinic

PRESS RELEASE

October 7, 2024

Rock Springs , WY — The Rock Springs VA Clinic staff cordially invite Veterans and community members to a groundbreaking ceremony for their new clinic Thursday, October 24, at 12:30 p.m. at 1001 Gateway Boulevard. The brief ceremony will be followed by a cookout, provided by the project contractor, the Avens Group.

The new 6,737 sq. ft. clinic will be conveniently located within a block of the current one at 1401 Gateway Boulevard. It adds 2,500 square feet of clinic space and will provide opportunities to expand services for the 2,697 Veterans currently enrolled.

The clinic will feature updated medical equipment, advanced telehealth tools, and offer a range of medical specialties. Additionally, Veterans will be able to remain in one exam space while providers come to them, rather than patients having to move about the facility to receive various specialty services.

The Avens Group, a service-disabled Veteran-owned small business, will complete the building next year and the clinic is scheduled to open by the end of 2025.

“This project marks our 10th VA Clinic, and our second clinic in Wyoming,” said Avens Group owner Luke Orander. “We bring extensive experience and a deep commitment to serving Veterans, ensuring that each facility meets the highest standards of care and functionality.”

The Avens Group is also proud to work with Wyoming businesses to fulfill the requirements of the contract. One example is Shepard Construction, the general contractor, which is a family-owned business based in Rawlins, Wyoming.

“Shepard is known for their commitment to quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction,” said Orander. “Their community involvement, their strong client relationships and their expertise in federal and healthcare projects is why we selected them for the Rock Springs VA Clinic.”
