Stephen Pennington is currently the Deputy Associate Director, Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive for VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System.
With his background in the nursing profession, Stephen has served in multiple roles in critical care, medical/surgical, and nursing leadership. This perspective inspires him to teach, inspire, and mentor nurses in innovation, data analytics, and employee engagement.
Stephen earned his Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi and his Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Nursing Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Arkansas University. He also maintains certifications in Critical Care Nursing Knowledge from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Certified in Executive Nursing Practice from the American Organization of Nurse Leaders, and Nursing Executive Basic and Advanced Certifications by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Stephen previously served as the President of the Arkansas Nurses Association and as a board member for the Arkansas Center for Nursing and the Midwest Multistate Division. Stephen's honors include being recognized as one of Arkansas's 40 Nurse Leaders Under 40 and Great 100 Nurses of Arkansas.
