Melissa Pineda-Sanchez

Melissa Pineda-Sanchez is currently the Acting Assistant Director at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS).
In this capacity she is charged with the overall management responsibility for Clinical Engineering Service, Environmental Management Service, Facilities Management Service, and all In-House Construction Projects.
Ms. Pineda-Sanchez has held several leadership positions within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) with her latest being Site Administrator of the San Antonio Northwest Health Care Center. In this capacity she was charged with the overall administrative responsibility of the San Antonio Northwest Health Care Center, which is comprised of 190,000 square feet, 23 departments and approximately 500 VA employees.
Ms. Pineda-Sanchez holds a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Veteran Mental Health from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Psychology from National University. She served as a Senior Enlisted service member (Sergeant First Class) with the U.S. Army for a combined 13 years of service as a Military Police Officer/Crisis Negotiator in support of Military Prison Operations. Serving at the United States Disciplinary Barracks Fort Leavenworth, KS, and the Naval Consolidated Brig Miramar at MCAS Miramar, CA.
