Dr. Thomas Chung joins VA St. Louis Health Care System as Chief, Radiation Oncology

St. Louis , MO — VA St. Louis Health Care System announced that Dr. Thomas Chung, MD, MBA, joined the hospital staff in June and has assumed the role of Chief, Radiation Oncology at John Cochran VA Hospital.
A U.S. Navy Veteran, Dr. Chung is providing quality radiation therapy services for Veterans with
cancer being treated here at VASTLHCS.

Dr. Chung is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy-Annapolis and medical school at the
University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed radiation oncology residency
at the Univ. of Michigan with his last year serving as chief resident. He served 9 years as a
radiation oncologist in the U.S. Navy at Naval Medical Center San Diego, followed by private
practice in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and most recently with SSM Health in St. Louis.

Dr. Chung is board certified by the American Board of Radiation with expertise in Intensity-
Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic
Cranial Body Radiosurgery and High-Dose-Rate Brachytherapy (HDR).
