COVID-19 vaccines

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIRD DOSE COVID-19 VACCINATIONS

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for a single booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 OR Moderna (half dose) vaccine 6 or more months after completion of a primary series for specific individuals. They also authorized a second dose of Janssen COVID vaccine 2 or more months after first dose.

  • Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the booster dose as follows:
    • People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings who received a Pfizer-BioNTech OR Moderna COVID-19 primary vaccine series at least 6 months ago
    • People aged 18–64 years with underlying medical conditions who received a Pfizer-BioNTech OR Moderna COVID-19 primary vaccine series at least 6 months ago, based on their individual benefits and risks
    • People aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting and who received a Pfizer-BioNTech OR Moderna COVID-19 primary vaccine series at least 6 months ago, based on their individual benefits and risks
    • Janssen COVID vaccine 2 or more months after completion of dose for all older than 18 years.
  • CDC: "Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose."
  • The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is only being offered at the Main Hospital in the SCI Dining Room and appointments available and walk-ins accepted
  • The Moderna COVID 19 vaccine is being offered at all our Outpatient Clinics and CBOCs (Primary Care Annex, Zephyrhills, Lakeland, South Hillsborough - SOHI, New Port Richey, Lecanto and Brooksville)
  • The Janssen COVID 19 vaccine is being offered at Main Hospital and all our Outpatient Clinics (Primary Care Annex, Zephyrhills, Lakeland, South Hillsborough - SOHI, New Port Richey, Lecanto and Brooksville)
    • Patients can schedule themselves by calling the COVID Vaccine line at 813-558-3999
  • Main Hospital: Hours of operation - Monday thru Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
    • Patient walk-ins will be accepted if patient is on-site and clinic can accommodate
