VA to Host PACT Act Veterans Health Fair in Cookeville

COOKEVILLE , TN — Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) will host a PACT Act Veterans Health Fair Nov. 8 at the American Legion Post 46 in Cookeville, Tenn. The event will be held at 90 E Spring Street in Cookeville from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The PACT Act is a new law that expands VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances. Veterans will have the opportunity to learn about new benefits and start a claim. Eligible Veterans can also enroll in VA health care during the event. The following programs will be available during the PACT Act Fair:

Veterans Benefits Administration
Military 2 VA Program
Caregiver Support Program and Advance Directives
Beneficiary Travel
Veterans Crisis Line/Suicide Prevention

A speaking engagement is planned for 11 a.m. with remarks from VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System’s Executive Director, VBA Nashville Regional Office’s Assistant Director, and representatives from the VA Caregiver Support, and Advance Wills and Directives.

VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is an integrated tertiary health care system comprised of two hospitals, the Alvin C. York Campus in Murfreesboro and the Nashville Campus, as well as more than a dozen community-based outpatient clinics located in Tennessee and Kentucky. TVHS provides ambulatory care, primary care, and secondary care in acute medicine and surgery, specialized tertiary care, transplant services, spinal cord injury outpatient care, and a full range of extended care and mental health services.
