Tomah , WI — Opening of the Newly Remodeled Tomah VA Urgent Care Clinic
TOMAH, Wis. - Tomah VA Medical Center (VAMC) is excited to announce the opening of the newly remodeled VAMC Urgent Care (UC) on March 11, 2024. The new UC Clinic hours are 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., 7 days per week, including holidays.
UC is on the 1st floor of building 400 on the Tomah VA campus. The newly remodeled space features 3,790 square feet to provide our Veterans with 4 exam rooms, a mental health treatment room, a women’s health/bariatric exam room, a triage room, and a protective environment isolation room.
Tomah VAMC urgent care clinic services include treatment of minor health concerns such as cough and congestion, minor cuts, wounds, and sprains. Urgent care does not replace emergency department care.
“Providing Veterans access to exceptional health care is essential to our mission.” said Karen Long, Medical Center Director. “The Tomah VA is committed to providing quality care to Veterans. We believe this new space and services that will be provided for them is a great step toward ensuring exceptional care for generations to come.”
For routine office visits and medication requests or refills, Veterans should continue to seek treatment from their primary care provider.
Veterans that have life-threatening symptoms are urged to call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for care. Veterans who have a condition that cannot wait for a Primary Care appointment should call the 24-hour Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 12 nurse triage line at 800-872-8662.
