James “Brad” Hardemon, MSN, RN, CIC,
Mr. Hardemon has been in the role of Associate Chief Nurse of Operations at the TVAMC for over two years. He has a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree in Nursing Leadership from the University of North Alabama (UNA) and is one of under nine thousand people worldwide with a certification in Infection Control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology.
Mr. Hardemon’s service with the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center began in 2015 where he worked as a Staff Nurse on Eagles Cove in our Community Living Center. After just a few months of employment at the TVAMC, he was selected as the recipient of the Karen V. Bailey Award for Excellence in Nursing. The award highlighted his role as a compassionate caregiver and leader. After a year of employment, Mr. Hardemon was selected as a Nurse Officer on Duty (NOD) where he functioned as a weekend, holiday, evening, and night (WHEN) supervisor for many years. His consistency as an effective nurse leader was also recognized in 2018 when he was the recipient of the Secretary's Award for Excellence in Nursing for a Registered Nurse in an Expanded Role.
Mr. Hardemon is a Master Level Scuba Diver and maintains an extensive vinyl music collection. His interests include Public Health and Infectious Disease Epidemiology.
