Our research programs
About our research
The Washington DC VA Medical Center Research Program incorporates laboratory science, clinical research and epidemiology (large data science) with the goal of discovering better ways to treat diseases that affect Veterans. The DC VAMC has 150 active projects that are led by over 60 principal investigators.

The Institute for Clinical Research is a private, non-profit entity incorporated in January 1984 in the District of Columbia. It is affiliated with, but legally distinct from, the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Its mission is to support research and education activities of

Special Research Programs at Washington DC VA Medical Center
- The Research Program includes a War Related Injury and Illness Study Center (WRIISC) https://www.warrelatedillness.va.gov/.
- Also, the DC VAMC Research Program is a participating site for the Million Veteran Program (MVP) Million Veterans Program (MVP).
