The Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center joined VA Medical Centers across the nation, hosting its 14th Annual VA2K Walk & Roll, May 15, 2024. Hosted by the medical center's multidisciplinary Employee Whole Health and Health Promotions Disease Prevention Teams, the event engages Veterans, VA staff and community members in a day of fun activities to encourage wellness through an active lifestyle and philanthropy by sharing food and care packages in support of Veterans transitioning from homelessness. The overcast skies were overshadowed by joy and camaraderie as DC VAMC participants took part in a pep-rally, received fresh produce donated by Essential Now and wellness resources donated by Giant Food, the VA MOVE! and Integrated Health and Wellness Programs. Activities included jump rope, dancing, cycling and a 1.24 mile walk around the medical campus.
