Washington DC VA Medical Center Names 2022 Physician Assistant of the Year

Over the course of her 18-year tenure with the VA, Goheen-Thomas has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help Veterans, and their families, through difficult times. From taking the time to listen to Veteran’s concerns, to explaining complex clinical situations and ensuring Veterans can get to their appointments, Goheen-Thomas provides the highest level of care with compassion and respect.

Her positive, willing attitude sets the standard for VA care and improves the experience of everyone she works with and cares for.

In addition to being an excellent clinician, Goheen-Thomas has impacted hundreds of students, fellows, and trainees over the years as a skilled teacher. Her supervisor said no matter how busy everything is, Goheen-Thomas always finds the time, patience, and humor to engage trainees and help shape the next generation.

Goheen-Thomas serves every Veteran with modesty and without expectation of reward; she simply does it for the patient.
