Childress VA Clinic opens May 9 with expanded care services for Veterans

Amarillo , TX — Amarillo VA Health Care System is pleased to announce the opening of the new Childress VA Clinic and invites Veterans and local citizens to a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, May 9, at 10 a.m. and Veterans resource fair until 1 p.m.

“We want to connect Veterans to the soonest and best care to support their whole health, and that of their family members, caregivers, and survivors,” Dr. Rodney Gonzalez, Amarillo VA HCS Director said. “This new clinic provides the means for us to do that for our Childress area Veterans.”

The Childress VA Clinic is located at 2305 Avenue F, NW, Ste. 900, Childress, Texas, 79201. A Veterans resource fair with representatives from various services and programs, including VA health care Eligibility and Enrollment, Suicide Prevention, Women’s Health, and Whole Health, will follow the ribbon cutting ceremony from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Veterans may also want to visit the PACT Act information booth to learn about the expanded health care and benefits for millions of Veterans and their survivors – including many Vietnam-era, Gulf War-era, and Post-9/11 Veterans. 

Amarillo VA HCS provides Veterans with health care services at five locations serving northern Texas and eastern New Mexico. Facilities include Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center in Amarillo, three community-based outpatient clinics in Childress, Dalhart, and Lubbock, Texas, and one in Clovis, New Mexico.
