Lubbock VA Clinic welcomes dozens of applicants to Hiring Fair
The Lubbock VA Clinic hosted a Hiring Fair for the community on Friday, August 18, 2023, and welcomed over 170 potential candidates to the event.
“It’s very heartening to see that so many people are interested in serving our Veterans,” said Michael Lucas, Assistant Director at AVAHCS.
The goal of the hiring fair was to fill essential positions with qualified candidates to expand Veteran care. Available job opportunities included registered nurses, physicians, licensed vocational nurses, medical support assistants, housekeeping aids and more.
“We want to be picky, and we want to provide excellent customer service,” said Dr. Dalton Keel, Chief Nurse of Community-based Outpatient Clinics at AVAHCS. “We want to really take care of our Veterans and we want them to have a really good relationship with their primary care and specialty teams."
The Lubbock VA Clinic recently celebrated two years in their new facility and are making plans to expand even more with two operating rooms and two procedure rooms that will have day surgery capabilities in the near future.
