Dental assistants provide crucial contributions to patient care and are essential to the VA’s ability to serve Veterans.

The week of March 3-9 is designated Dental Assistants Recognition Week by the American Dental Assistants Association. The theme for 2024 is 100 Years Supporting Oral Health and acknowledges the importance of dentistry's role in health care and the contributions of dental assistants.

One Army Veteran noted how dental assistants, through their interaction with patients, set the tone for his visits and can help ease any anxiety or apprehension. “Dental assistants provide crucial contributions to patient care and are essential to the VA’s ability to serve Veterans,” he added.

“The extraordinary work our 21 Dental Assistants provide is essential to creating lasting relationships with our Veterans and ensuring their optimal oral health,” said Dr. Julia Comer, Atlanta VAHCS Dental Chief.

Kudos to all our dental assistants for their dedication and commitment to caring for the smiles of our Veterans.  We appreciate you all!
