Before joining VA Augusta, Kimberly Booker served as the Associate Director of the Eastern Kansas HCS, where she led a spectrum of operational functions.

Her responsibilities encompassed diverse areas, including Finance, Facility Planning, Engineering, Logistics, Privacy and FOIA, VERA, Safety and Occupational Health, and eight CBOCs. She also served as a key liaison to departments like Human Resources, OI&T, and Contracting within a dual-campus organization.

Booker’s journey within the Department of Veterans Affairs spans over 17 years and is marked by a steady ascent in leadership roles. She’s had the privilege of serving in a number of details as part of the Executive Leadership Team, to include but not limited to Acting Assistant Director, Interim Associate Director, and Acting Chief of Care in Community. She has held positions to include, Chief of Health Administration Service, CBOC Administrator, Executive Assistant (EA) to Chief of Staff, EA to Medical Center Director, Customer Service Manager, VISN lead for Women Veterans, and completed a detail in VACO.

Booker’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a master’s in healthcare administration. In 2020, she completed the Health Care Leadership Development Program.  She holds a certificate in Quad to Medical Center Director, and certification in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Additionally, Booker is a certified Fellow Mentor and an active member of prominent organizations like the National Association of Health Services Executives (N.A.H.S.E.) and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), alongside engagements in several other community organizations.

In addition to her current and past duties, she actively mentors young ladies from the inception and completion of high school, to the inception of freshman year in college. The 501c organization has increased graduation rates amongst young ladies from the ages of 14-18, living in underprivilege areas, as well in helping to identify mental health services.  

Booker is eager to leverage her extensive experience and knowledge in her current role with VA Augusta, dedicated to furthering the mission of providing top-tier healthcare to our esteemed Veterans.
