VA’s Top Clinical Leader to Host Veterans Town Hall in St. Croix

St. Croix , VI — Dr. Shereef Elnahal, Under Secretary for Health, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will host a Veterans town hall meeting on Tuesday, May 23 in St. Croix from 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

The event will take place at the Regional Training Institute located at Northcentral in Bethlehem near the National Guard Armory.

During the town hall, Dr. Elnahal will discuss expanded health care benefits because of the PACT Act, organizational priorities and improvements, and other topics of interest. Veterans will also have the opportunity to voice feedback about VA health care and ask questions.

The town hall is part of a week of activities in the U.S. Virgin Island for Veterans. In addition to the town hall, two VA health and benefits fairs will take place. The first fair is scheduled for Thursday, May 25 on St. Croix, and the second will take place on Saturday, May 27 on St. Thomas. VA operates two community based outpatient clinics in the U.S. Virgin Islands in St. Croix and St. Thomas. Approximately 1,500 Veterans actively receive care at the clinics. The clinics are part of the larger VA Caribbean Healthcare System headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
