Gerald Shaner 100th Birthday Celebration
Gerald E. Shaner is a beloved Veteran who celebrated his 100th birthday on March 10.
Born in 1924, Mr. Shaner grew up during a time of great change in America. He proudly served our country during WWII and was presented with the Silver Star for gallantry in action. Mr. Shaner was also recently inducted into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame and earned the Ohio Medal of Valor for his acts of heroism.
Mr. Shaner was presented with a certificate of recognition by Dr. Marc Cooperman, Medical Center Director, on March 29 for reaching this incredible milestone. The certificate read as follows:
"Happy 100th Birthday! Thank you for your service and thank you for allowing us to serve you."
He is an inspiration to us all and we are honored to celebrate his remarkable life today. Happy 100th birthday, Mr. Shaner!
