Cincinnati VAMC to enhance Veteran access to the main entrance, Nov. 15
Beginning Nov. 15, 2023, the reallocation of Veteran parking at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center (VAMC) will offer spots closer to the main entrance, making it easier for Veterans to access the facility.
This enhancement is part of a larger effort to ensure Veterans, their families, and caregivers have more convenient parking options, which started with the implementation of complimentary valet parking for Veterans with appointments in 2022.
“We recognize the difficulties Veterans have faced with securing parking and making it to their appointments on time at our main campus, so offering additional parking options closer to the main entrance was the most logical approach to mitigating that issue,” said Jon L. Maggard, Cincinnati VAMC Chief, Police Service. “Providing Veterans the best care anywhere is our top priority at VA, and improving access to the facility is a big part of that.”
On Nov. 15, all flat lots at the main campus will be designated for Veterans, their families, and caregivers, and the parking garage will only be open to VA employees with badge access. VA Police will continue to monitor parking at the main campus, citing any vehicles that are not permitted to park in Veteran-only lots.
“We sincerely appreciate the patience of Veterans, their families, and caregivers as we strive to be better each day, and improve their overall experience at our facility,” Maggard concluded.
