Lacario Johnson is our Acting Assistant Director
Mr. Johnson has been with the VA since 2009. He started his career with the Cincinnati VA and came to Dayton VA in 2013 as a Police Officer. He was promoted to Deputy/Assistant Chief of Police in 2020 before becoming the Chief of Occupational Health and Safety in 2022. From 2022 until recently, he has served as the Interim Chief of Police.
Mr. Johnson is an Air Force Veteran. He was deployed to Kyrgyzstan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He holds a bachelor’s degree in emergency management and disaster with an associate degree in counterterrorism studies from American Military University.
