Nutrition Month

This year's theme, "Fuel for the Future," highlights the importance of fueling our bodies at every age and eating with the environment in mind.

National Nutrition Month® is an annual campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. During the month of March, everyone is encouraged to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits.

This year's theme, "Fuel for the Future," highlights the importance of fueling our bodies at every age and eating with the environment in mind. Practice gratitude for your body by giving it the fuel it needs with sustainable foods! A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Nutrition and Dietetics Technician can teach Veterans how nutrient needs may change with age and give personalized nutrition information to meet their health goals.

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day is celebrated every year on the second Wednesday in March which is TOMORROW!

Tomorrow, March 8, 2023, give a “shout out” to your Dayton VA and CBOC dietitians.

Registered Dietitian Nutritionists are committed to improving the health of patients, clients and their communities.  The Healthy Teaching Kitchen demonstrates healthy, nutritious recipes and teaches cooking techniques.

Visit the HTK website HERE for more nutrition information and great recipe ideas.

Stay tuned for next week’s National Nutrition Month activities!

There are so many reasons to see a Registered Dietitian, but here are just a few:

  • To better understand a disease or condition you may have, provide practical nutrition recommendations, and help you set and achieve SMART goals!
  • To help guide you with meal planning, grocery shopping tips and food preparation strategies that align with your lifestyle and cultural preferences.
  • To help clarify and debunk myths as well as provide evidence-based education that is safe and sustainable.

Veterans, did you know that you do not need a consult or doctor’s referral to meet with a Registered Dietitian at the VA? Just call 937-268-6511 ext. 1001 to schedule your nutrition appointment today!
