The Dayton VA is taking staff training to a new level with virtual reality

The Dayton VA is taking staff training to a new level with virtual reality.  Thursday a pilot training program, Moments that Matter, was launched where staff can put on a virtual reality headset and become immersed in a computer-generated VA hospital. They experience the inpatient discharge process but from the Veteran’s perspective. Our top nurse executives, Becky Beckman and Susan Mickey, were two of those who tried it out.  Registered Nurse Marcy Forrest said it was “neat” and a way to learn how the patient feels, giving nurses a better understanding of what the Veteran is going through.
