New State-of-the-Art VA Lancaster Clinic to Begin Serving Veterans in 2025
PRESS RELEASE
April 1, 2024
Los Angeles , CA — A new VA clinic is scheduled to come to Lancaster, Calif., to serve Antelope Valley Veterans in the summer of 2025. The new clinic will be located at 44439 17th St. W in an existing building recently acquired by VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) via a 20-year lease.
Design is underway to transform the site into a cutting-edge facility with approximately 20,000 square feet of space dedicated to Veteran care.
While the current Lancaster clinic is a collaborative effort between VA and outside healthcare partners, where VA has oversight authority and contractors provide direct care to patients, the new clinic will be exclusively staffed and operated by VA to ensure consistent and best care for Veterans. There will be a seamless transition from the current space to the new location, with no pause in services for patients.
“We were committed to finding the perfect location for our state-of-the-art new Lancaster clinic. The new facility will be double the size of the current clinic and will provide quicker access to services and better care for the nearly 9,000 Veterans in the area,” said VAGLAHS Interim Medical Center Director Robert Merchant. “This expansion reflects our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of those who have served our nation.”
VA chose this location for its convenient freeway access and proximity to community healthcare. The new facility will feature a modern-patient-centered layout.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing a brand new, VA-staffed and operated clinic to Veterans in this important region,” said Alan Trinh, Acting Executive Director, Ambulatory Care Services for VAGLAHS. “We’ve listened to Veterans feedback and heard their request for faster access to the best possible care. This upgraded space is part of VA’s commitment to providing world-class health care in every community we serve.”
When fully operational, more than 70 VA employees will work at the new VA Lancaster clinic. Services offered will include primary care, a new dedicated women’s health clinic, services for Veterans experiencing homelessness, telehealth, mental health, physical medicine and rehabilitation, audiology and speech, eye care, social work, Housing, and lab services.
