Alan Trinh was appointed Acting Executive Director, Ambulatory Care Services, VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) in May 2023.

Previously he served as the Chief of the Office of Strategic, Facility and Master Planning for VAGLAHS.  Alan was responsible for leading the development and implementation of major capital planning activities that drive growth and innovation across a $1.4B+ healthcare system caring for nearly 90,000 Veterans at twelve sites spanning over 20,000 square miles. Alan also oversaw the development and implementation of the congressionally mandated West Los Angeles Master Plan and its activities for the development of 1,200+ units of permanent supportive housing for homeless Veterans valued at over $1.2B and synchronizing them with the planned construction of a new $2B research, ambulatory, and critical care complex, ensuring alignment with VA’s healthcare priorities and coordination with all VAGLAHS-wide strategic planning and redevelopment initiatives.  With over 20 years of experience in acquisition and logistics, and projects and program management, Alan has implemented innovative strategies and initiatives to drive growth, efficiency, and effectiveness within healthcare systems. He is committed to providing the highest level of care to Veterans and is dedicated to enhancing the overall healthcare experience for Veterans and their families.

Prior to joining VAGLAHS, Alan served dual-hatted as the Interim Director and Deputy Director for VHA, Veterans Integrated Service Network – 22, Network Contracting Office, where he led a team of 124 staff executing over 8,600 contracts annually for construction and design, prosthetics, commodities and services, and real property leases valued over $1B providing direct support to eight major hospitals, 65 outpatient clinics, and 31 vet centers serving over 1.5 million Veterans.

Mr. Trinh earned his M.S in Public Policy and Administration, and his B.S in Criminology from California State University, Long Beach, and his A.A in Business Administration from Fullerton College. He is a certified senior level official in Federal Acquisition, Federal Real Property Leasing, Federal Facilities Engineering and Construction, and Federal Acquisition Program and Project Management.
