GCVHCS Director Extends Holiday Greetings

Happy Holidays from the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System
Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS) Director Bryan C. Matthews wishes Veterans, employees and community partners and members a safe and joyous holiday season.

As we celebrate this holiday season, please remember the valor and sacrifice of our nation's men and women who have sacrificed so much to ensure the liberties we enjoy remain a part of our lives.

Whatever celebrations we choose to observe, know that our freedom to do so has been protected by each and every individual who has worn the cloth of our great nation.
The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS) has maintained the spirit of President Abraham Lincoln's words spoken during his second inaugural address in 1865 and adopted as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) motto in 1959: "To care for him who shall have borne the battle..."
And during this holiday season, I encourage each and every one of you to remember those in our community, the more than 82,0000 Veterans - some of whom might be alone during this time - that we at the GCVHCS serve.
These men and women have made it possible for us to count our blessings, and they, along with our wounded warriors, their families and the families of the fallen who are unable to be home to celebrate this holiday season, are remembered by the more than 2,700 GCVHCS employees during this holiday season.
On behalf of our employees, I would like to offer the warmest and best wishes for a blessed and joyous holiday season to all members of the GCVHCS family and the wonderful communities which we call home. Wherever you might find yourself in celebration of this holiday season, please know that the GCVHCS is dedicated to the service we have sworn to uphold.
Bless each of you, and may you have a wonderful holiday season.
   Sincerely,
     Bryan C. Matthews
     Director
Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System
