Joseph Tumpis

Joseph Tumpis was named Acting Associate Director of Operations on Nov. 27, 2023.
Before assuming his current role, Mr. Tumpis served as Hines VA's Chief of Engineering. He previously worked as a Project Engineer for VA and in private-sector healthcare construction. He is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Illinois as a mechanical HVAC specialist and received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
At Hines VA, Mr. Tumpis oversaw several notable projects, including the 2014 Main Lobby renovation, the 2019 Building 200 Façade Replacement, the new Boiler Plant and underground distribution also completed in 2019, and the award of the largest ever NRM construction contract to date for Fiscal Year 2023 in support of the Electronic Health Records Modernization infrastructure. He is a Marine Corps Veteran.
