Adopt-A-Pot

Adopt-a-pot banner

Help beautify for the summer by volunteering to adopt one of the many planters and flowerpots around the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center main campus.

How does it work?

  1. Choose from over 140 different pots and planters around campus
  2. Gather your supplies from Engineering
  3. Then find your adopted pot and let the games begin!

Speaking of games, each pot will have the opportunity to win a prize or two in our first ever Adopt-A-Pot Beauty Contest. Our very own Executive Leadership Team will be making the rounds and looking at your creations the week of September 11 with winners being announced the week of September 18.

As soon as supplies are available, all volunteers will get one bag of topsoil, 3 plants, and pea gravel. But don't limit yourself to just 3 plants! Get creative and feel free to jazz things up with as many additional plants and flowers as you want! Just keep things under 12 inches. To help keep things classy, no vines or decorations. Keep those gnomes at home!

Our green thumbed gardeners can fly solo, or work as a team with friends, family, and departments. Or go big and get your entire service involved! Sky's the limit!

But you've got to act fast! Planting begins June 30 and pots will be gone before you know it.

All volunteers will be responsible for their pots through September 30. So, keep 'em pretty, and most importantly, keep 'em alive! To help with that, our Engineering team will have tools for you to borrow if needed.

Lets Go!
