The Quincy VA Clinic is a shining example of how healthcare providers can make a positive impact on their community.

The staff at the small-town clinic have made it their mission to connect with their patients and provide them with the personalized care they need to thrive. It’s no wonder that the clinic has achieved a trust score of 95.5%, which is above National (91.4%), VISN 23 (93.7%), and Facility benchmarks (93.7%). One Veteran patient said, "The staff are always kind and helpful. They are always willing to help me reach a better me. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have a VA clinic right in my town."

Patients at the Quincy VA rave about the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. "We have been very happy with the complete care and help from all the staff we have worked with,” said another Veteran, “I truly wish all health care providers had as wonderful of employees and staff.” the clinic offers a wide variety of services such as podiatry, cardiology, in-house radiology, lab, telehealth, audiology, mental health, dietary, and pharmacy consulting. This allows patients to get all the care they need in one location, rather than having to travel to Iowa City.

A popular program at the Quincy Clinic is the support group for Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans, which meets twice a month. The group provides support and education, but more importantly, it allows Veterans to connect with each other and form real bonds outside the walls of the clinic. Members have raved about the group so much so that there has been an increased demand for more support groups for younger Veterans and Women’s health. It has also inspired Veterans to help others that are in need in a variety of ways from shoveling each other out in the snow, to checking in on each other’s wellbeing, to sharing contacts.  Amber Riley, the social worker who leads the support groups, says the group has taught her the importance of being there for one another and the ripple effect of positivity that it can create in the community. “It feels good,” said Riley, “When you are doing good work, it fills your heart.”
