VA Loma Linda health care operates a comprehensive behavioral health program. We provide excellent Veteran-focused mental health care. Ask a care coordinator about treatment options suited to your unique needs.

Care we provide at VA Loma Linda health care

The Behavioral Health Department offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including telehealth appointments. We provide consultation, evaluation, and treatment for a variety of issues impacting emotional well-being. Our services include:

  • Psychiatry
  • Psychology
  • Services for Veterans who are homeless
  • Treatment for addictive disorders, including residential rehabilitation treatment programs
  • Transition and care management for returning Veterans (OIF/OEF/OND)
  • Same-day mental health care services at the Mental Health Access Clinic

Mental Health Access Clinic

VA Loma Linda's Mental Health Access Clinic is located at the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans’ Hospital Emergency Department, 11201 Benton St., Loma Linda, CA 92357. 

The Mental Health Access Clinic is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to provide expanded same-day mental health care services such as:

  • crisis intervention therapy
  • help to establish, resume, or update mental health care treatment plans
  • psychiatric medication consultations
  • information on available mental healthcare interventions and treatments

For non-emergency mental health assistance, schedule an appointment through MyHealtheVet or call ext. 5085.

Confidentiality

Mental health services are confidential. We will not talk to anyone about information you share unless you give written consent. Under federal law, a few exceptions to this rule exist. If you have questions, please ask your mental health provider.

  • Learn more about VA mental health services for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychological effects of military sexual trauma (MST), depression, grief, anxiety, and other needs. You can use some services even if you’re not enrolled in VA health care.

  • Care and resources for Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

  • Training, educational resources, and tools to help Veteran caregivers take care of their families.

  • If you’re a Veteran in a mental health crisis and you’re thinking about hurting yourself—or you know a Veteran who’s considering this—get help right away. You’re not alone.
