U.S. Representative Pete Aguilar (CA-31) visited the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans' Hospital here Feb. 14 to recognize National Salute to Veteran Patients week and Valentine’s Day.

Rep. Aguilar and Girl Scout Troop 1302 thanked Veterans for their service and handed out cards made by local elementary school students.

The congressman and VA Loma Linda Healthcare System Leadership visited inpatient Veterans Joseph Aptel and Joseph Tate. Rep. Aguilar talked with the Veterans about their time in service and their care at VALLHS.

National Salute to Veteran Patients week is a time to show special appreciation for Veteran patients and increase community awareness of VA services and volunteer opportunities. VALLHS Center for Development and Civic Engagement staff and volunteers recognize Veteran patients with greeting cards and giveaways throughout the week at multiple VALLHS facilities.
