Moving the Body

Our Whole Health team is available to work with you to match your needs and interests with a physical activity to help you get closer to your best active self this summer!

No matter the season or stage of life, staying active is one of the best ways to promote healthy bones, joints, heart, muscles and mind!  The Health and Human Services recommends adults obtain 2.5 – 5 hours total of moderate intensity exercise per week.

Your local Whole Health team has combined skills to offer veterans many online physical activities ranging from Tai Chi, Yoga, general exercise, and even group support for gardening!  Your Whole Health coach will help you consider all the factors specific to your lifestyle and activity goals to find the right type of activity, time and place that suits what you’re looking for.  For example, you could establish a new walking program for yourself and use your health coach for motivation and accountability to get started on it.

Your coach can also help you the stage for your success with your activity goals by brainstorming ways to make it easier for you to achieve your goals!

Physical activity can help individuals keep stronger bones and it helps to lubricate our joints so they’re easier to move.   Keeping an active lifestyle supports a healthy heart and circulatory system by reducing the risk of heart disease.  Lower your risk of chronic health conditions, cancers, stroke, and mental health conditions by keeping a physical activity routine as part of your daily life.

Reach out to Whole Health at extension 12537 or ask your PCP to get started with your health coach.
