November is National Family Caregivers Month (NFCM)!

Year of the Caregiver

Each November, we celebrate family caregivers nationwide!

Happy National Family Caregivers Month (NFCM)! This month, we celebrate family caregivers nationwide. The Caregiver Support Program (CSP) joins this celebration by recognizing caregivers of Veterans.

This year, we are celebrating NFCM through the theme "Year of the Caregiver – The Whole Caregiver." We aim to empower you, our caregivers, to prioritize your needs.

Did you know that the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Caregiver Support Program (CSP) offers clinical services to caregivers of eligible and covered Veterans enrolled in the VA health care system? The program’s mission is to promote the health and well-being of family caregivers who care for our Nation’s Veterans, through education, resources, support, and services. Learn more about the Caregiver Support Program here!

At Montana VA, we provide caregivers support by:

  • Helping you get caregiver assistance available through VA
  • Providing progressive needs planning to help you manage degenerative conditions
  • Matching you with services and benefits
  • Connecting you with local resources and programs
  • Listening to you when you struggle
  • Providing you with additional help at home

If you’re a caregiver for a Veteran, you may be eligible for the above support . If the Veteran you care for was injured post-9/11, you may be eligible for even more services, including a stipend to help with expenses, training, and medical coverage if you aren’t already covered.

To learn more, contact the Montana VA Caregiver Support team at 406-447-6797.

We sincerely thank you on behalf of the Montana VA Caregiver Support Program and the Veterans you serve. Happy National Family Caregivers Month!
