Dr. Young began her VA career as a staff Gastroenterologist at the Phoenix VA Health Care System in 1996.
She later served as a Chief of Gastroenterology and was the GI Fellowship Director at the University of Arizona College of Medicine from 2010-2018.
In 2014, Dr. Young took on additional duties as Chief, Access Care Initiative, engaging medicine and surgical chiefs in consult management, productivity, and access. Since 2017, she has excelled as Chief of Medicine, at Phoenix VA Health Care System.
Dr. Young received her MD from SUNY-Stony Brook School of Medicine and studied at University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health and has held multiple faculty appointments at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Dr. Young has an extensive research background, participating in multiple clinical trials, published several peer-review articles and authored several book chapters.
