ICARE award winners
VA Northern Indiana ICARE award winners for the month of September.

This week, we celebrated our September ICARE ceremony. VA ICARE values describe how VANIHCS will accomplish its mission and inform every interaction with our customers.

Every month employees are recognized for demonstrating ICARE values by going above and beyond for their Veterans and teammates.

Congratulations to the September ICARE Employeesof the Month.

ICARE Co-2nd Runner-Up, September Employee of the Month

Ashley Nelson, Administrative Officer

A Veteran arrived at Fort Wayne Hospital after 4:00pm, the Veteran was enrolled but hadn’t been assigned a primary care doctor. The Veteran had lost his outside insurance and was recently discharged from another hospital after a stroke and could no longer afford his medication. Nelson contacted the patient advocate to assign him a doctor so he could immediately be seen in the Emergency room. The Veteran was seen by 5:00pm and received all his medications.
