PRESS RELEASE

April 2, 2024

Honolulu , HI — Honolulu, Hawaii-- We are excited to invite you to a Veteran Affairs Health Care Enrollment and VA Claims Clinic Event for the Daniel Kahikina Akaka VA Clinic at 91-1051 Franklin D. Roosevelt Avenue in Kapolei.

The event is on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will include registration services, whole health, caregiver support, benefits advisors, and much more. If you are curious to see our new clinic before it opens, this is your chance. We will see our first patient on April 8, 2024, with a gradual increase in services from the calendar year. Completed on budget and on time, the $130 million, 88,675 square-foot multi-specialty outpatient clinic will provide a wide array of services for Veterans on Oʻahu, and Veterans throughout the Pacific Islands who come here for care. These services include:

• Primary Care
• Mental Health
• Radiology
• Laboratory
• Diagnostic Services
• Pharmacy
• Specialty Care
• VA Benefits Services

“The new Daniel Kahikina Akaka VA Clinic will serve Veterans for decades to come,” said Dr. Robinson. “It is our next step towards providing safe, compassionate, and quality care to those who have worn the cloth of our nation.”

The clinic was named to honor the late Senator Daniel K. Akaka. Akaka was first Senator of Native Hawaiian ancestry. He was also a Veteran, and a strong advocate for Veteran’s issues. For Hunt, the developer of the state-of-the-art facility and the largest military housing owner in the United States, this dedication is a proud moment and a great achievement. There are 528 parking spots total, of which 43 are reserved for disabled Veterans and 19 are for EV charging via the Xeal app. The Veterans Administration awarded the lease to locate the Akaka CBOC project at Kapolei in April 2021, and the groundbreaking ceremony was in December 2022.
