Temporary Road Closure for Crane Lift – June 21

digital rendering of a crane that will be placed in front of the medical center to facilitate construction on the roof on June 21, 2023.

The main entrance road to the Washington DC VA Medical Center will be closed Wednesday, June 21, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The closure will restrict vehicle and pedestrian access to the main entrance road and may restrict Metrobus access and delay main entrance access for staff and Veterans. Police and Safety Service will be present to direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic appropriately.

The road closure is necessary to safely facilitate the placement of a crane that will be used to complete urgent maintenance work on the building. Washington DC VA Medical Center’s Facilities Management Service Team has worked hard to coordinate the necessary crane mobilization during non-peak hours to limit disruption to Veterans, staff and visitors.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to improve our environment of care for Veterans, their families and caregivers.
